Tour the Classrooms!
We host tours every week, on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM!
This is a chance for incoming students and parents -- as well as current 4th and 5th graders, and their families -- to learn and ask questions about IVA's curriculum and mission, and to learn about its culture of intellectual growth, optimism and hope. IVA students will be on hand to answer questions about what they're learning this year and what student life is like at this new charter middle school in Long Beach.
Middle School CHOICE Family Information Nights - 4 Nights to Learn More
IVA hosts periodic information nights throughout the school year so that prospective families and interested educators may learn about IVA's model of education. These nights provide time for families to learn more about IVA and consider what do you want for middle school education for your child. We will have current students and teachers at the event to share their experiences and give you a window into their lives at IVA. It can be helpful to learn more, ask your own questions, and hear the questions other are asking so that you may better imagine who your child can become in an environment devoted to thinking and learning.
December 4, 2018, Family CHOICE Info Night, 6:30pm to 8:00pm (2019-20 Applications Released)
January 17, 2019, Family CHOICE Info Night, 6:00pm to 7:30pm
February 28, 2019, STUDENT CHOICE Info Night, 6:30pm to 8:00pm - this event is led by IVA Student Leaders for incoming students. Parents are welcome to drop off their kiddos and pick them back up at 8:00pm.
March 12, 2019, Open House, 6:30pm to 8:00pm
March 15, 2019, Applications Due (to be entered into lottery. After March 15, applications received will be added to the waiting list in the order they are received)
April 11, 2019, Lottery Night, 6:30pm (Open to the public. Applicants do not need to be present to win a spot)
