Parents are welcome to join a parent community discussion with IVA's Counselor, Mr. Mikaele and Principal, Ms. Bryant next Tuesday evening to discuss school and family response to bullying. IVA is structuring this conversation to support the following goals:

• Give families a place to learn more about the school's response to student mistreatment
• Help families identify supportive practices aligned with the school's process

 

IVA received training last year from CCEJ to implement circle discussions at the parent level. Circle discussions are one element of a Restorative Justice discipline model. IVA teachers implement these discussions in classes and when appropriate this type of conversation is a helpful element to help process student conflict.
